Howling at the Moon

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.
This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

Jan. 30, 1:18 a.m. EST -- Full Wolf Moon. Amid the zero cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. It was also known as the Old Moon or the Moon after Yule.

Feb. 28, 11:38 a.m. EST -- Full Snow Moon.

Mar. 29, 10:25 p.m. EDT -- Full Worm Moon.

Apr. 28, 8:18 a.m. EDT -- Full Pink Moon

May 27, 7:07 p.m. EDT -- Full Flower Moon

Jun. 26, 7:30 a.m. EDT -- Full Strawberry Moon

Jul. 25, 9:37 p.m. EDT -- Full Buck Moon

Cereal Box Book Report

This is, or was, a fun idea.... Untill we started making it!!! ROAR!! It's like pulling teeth to get my oldest to do book reports... He's supposed to come up with a book report and put it on a cereal box, and then make up a commercial to sell it (pretends) On one side of the box, you are supposed to write a summary of the book and explain the main conflict or problem... He came up with, "this book is funny".... uh ya!!?? Come on Bug!! Time to start brainstorming! The book he read, in 2 days, is the 3rd book of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Last Straw... So far the cereal box looks pretty good... What do you think?

My Sister

Jennifer is the second child of 6 kids to my parents... I would have said she is my oldest sister, but that doesn't sound so good... She isn't old and she certainly doesn't look old...

My beautiful, Awesome, sweet sister is married to Gary (20 years) and has 4 beautiful children. 3 Handsome boys, and one darling little girl (who is the youngest). I have always looked up to my sister. She is everything I have always wanted to be. Even when I was little, I would beg to tag along with her, sleep in her room, borrow her things, and ride in her car.... She is such a beatiful woman, wife, and mother! I still aspire to be just like her...

Love you Jenny!!

*Jen sent me the picture of her in her new hair doo yesterday... She looks just like my beautiful Mom =0)

Trip to the Emergency Room

So... after a long day of recovery from Kenley's surgery and her being miserable... Kelson started to cough as he went to bed. He coughed himself silly, coughing so much he threw up! not just once, and in one bed, but 5 times through out the night! The Poor boy coughed so much that his little throat was all tight and swollen, not allowing him to breathe... I tried everything! Humidifier, steamy bathroom, cold air outside, vick's vapor rub, Delsym cough medicine...
After a whole night of coughing and a barf party, and Kelson having a very hard time breathing... I decided to call my sister to the rescue and take him to the Emergency Room at 4 AM... Thank you Emmy for coming to help me, again, with Ken and Brayden...
While in Emergency room, they gave Kelson a breathing treatment, and a steroid for inflamation of his throat and lungs. They had to observe him for 4 hours after that... OH BOY!! The things to stay awake... cleaned out purse, filed my nails, watched TLC channel and Sesame Street, and took self portrait pictures to send to my Bestie ha ha ha ha ha

Ear, Nose and Throat

Kenny Baby had to get tubes in hear ears and get her tonsils and adnoids out, Tuesday January 19th... She was very brave, and is doing suprisingly well... Except for the pain in her throat and ears... Thank you to my AWESOME sister who went with me for support, and to my AWESOME mommy who helped with her when we got home... Cheers to a Speedy Recovery!!

Body Art

My cute friend Dez got some work done!! WOW!! It's amazing... She had a tattoo on her ankle, that she didn't care for anymore, so she went and got a tattoo put over it... I love the details... I can't believe it!! It looks like it's popping off her skin!! Love it Dez!!

Circle Sniffing...

I took out the 3 furry kids (Bosco the boss *black*, Isabelle *white*, and Oakley *brown*) to go potty.... Watched them run around, sniff each other's drop offs, tease each other, bark at birds, (and other various noises) then they gathered in a circle and were greeting each other as dogs do... I'm so glad I'm not a dog!!

Finding uses for the Organ

My mom bought herself an Organ to play on... She has always wanted one, and found one for a great price at the Salvation Army... My kids love to play on it, and make tons of noise! It usually is unplugged. But Kelson still manages to find use for it.... He could spend hours playing there...

Incredible

Look what this handsome boy is doing!! Even after an early Saturday morning Basketball game...

I used to have to fight him to do this... It was like pulling teeth!!

A blast from the past...

My sophmore year in Highschool....

a Letter to a long lost friend...

A dear old friend from Highschool contacted me on Facebook today... She asked what I have been up to for the past decade or so... Since I wrote her a whole chapter in a nutshell... I thought I would post it on here since it describes me and what I have been up to in the past decade or so... weird post??
Owell... Who reads this anyways? ha ha ha

Dear Friend...
Oh wow!! I am so happy to hear from you!! I am so happy you have found a wonderful husband and have a sweet little angel boy... I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles with him. Heavenly Father couldn't have chosen a more perfect mother to raise his special child.. He sounds like a sweetheart, and a handful huh? I got married in 1998 and was 7 months preggers with my first, Brayden, who is now 11 and is a sport nut!! Then had two more babies right in a row 5 years later. Kelson (kelly's son) is 6 and Kenley girl is 5... They are 11 months apart... didn't plan that (I was asleep) ;) I have been going through a divorce for the last two years... My ex is an addict and has been for the last 6 or 7 years. We tried working it out, but his addiction to #*%$ got the best of him. He cleans up and then relapses, and doesn't act right, and all that fun stuff... Anyways... I am better off and Finally happy to be on my own with the 3 best things that came from our marriage... My babies, in which I have full and legal custody now that our divorce was finalized and signed on December 10, 2009!! (But really, we've been apart for over 6 years) Holy Hannah Montana!! ha ha
My boys go to
*#$#@#*# school, and I live in a duplex just down the street from @#$%&*. So I am still in the hood =0) I worked for Jordan School District, and now at Granite School District working at the @#$#@#$ offices as an Equipment and Inventory specialist for special Education. I am currently dreaming of going back to school. But being a full time single mom and working full time... I might have to wait just a little longer till my baby girl is in school herself.
WOW! Thats a lot in a nut shell... I think about you often, and have driven past your old house, and have always wondered what you have been up too! Next time I come to vegas I will have to hit you up for a hug!!! Hope to hear again from you soon...
Kelly

Giving up Chocolate...

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy chocolate with it instead of dinner?' 'No, I had to stop eating chocolate years ago', the homeless woman told me.'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive! ''Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked.'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!''Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.'The homeless Woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.' I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and chocolate.'

My Baby Brother

well he's not such a baby... He's going to be 30 this year!! Mike and I are 16 months apart... We love him so... Mike was born with Arthrogyposis of the joints and Scoliosis of the spine... (Spell check?) Later on my mom had his genetic makeup studied and learned that he had a chromosome deficiency. He has Monosomy 21, which is... he is missing one of the pair of chromosome 21. Usually monosomy 21 babies die before birth or shortly after. Michael is one of a kind... He has out lived medical history!! There is no record of his condition before him.. Part of the one chromosome 21 broke off and attached to another chromosome 8 or 10 or 9 or niner something?? Mike is our special boy. He completes our family. He has taught us love and patience and so many lessons. He loves to pull hair, throw things, eat cookies and bread. He loves McDonald double cheese burgers. He loves things that make noise (keyboard, vacuums, noisy toy guns) but he also will settle for a shoe or a spatula?? We never know with Mikey, but he is easy to please. We are so Thankful for his 2nd Mom, whom he lives with, and all the helpers who help with him. We get to take Mikey Saturday afternoons, and many other times that come up. I love you Mytoes!!

My mouth waters for this.....

Merry Be-lated Christmas!!

For all of those who I regretfully forgot to send out a Christmas Greeting card... I will post our greeting card picture for this year...

BUT... I think it's never to late to say, Merry Be-lated Christmas... I generally use the term Merry Christmas through out the year... Santa came to our house and brought everything you could possibly imagine... I hope that I can feel the Happiness of my children, on Christmas morning, all through the year... what a wonderful morning it was...

Christmas Luminary

Every year at my Dad and sister's cemetary, they have an annual Christmas Luminary. It is so beautiful. They put a sack with a candle on all of the graves, and line the streets, and you drive through at night with your lights off... It is so peaceful and so beautiful... It looks like a sea of floating gold... Pictures don't do Justice.. Here are a couple I snapped with my professional camera phone ;)
