Flashback to Turkey Soup Night

Once again... it's Turkey Soup Night 2011
We gather on the Lund side, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving,
where Grandma Connie makes her famous Turkey soup
using the leftover Turkey from Thanksgiving...
This soup is so delicious!! And there are a ton of different ways
of how everyone eats their soup..
With or without crackers
homemade rolls with Cheese sauce or butter
HOT sauce... Tabacco sauce or Tapatio
and Ketchup... yup! Ketchup
Grandma adds something new each year...
This year she added squash! YUM!!!
I don't think the kids even knew... it was sooooo good
Mmmmmmmmmm my mouth is watering!!
Since we are gathered on this night with our family, I asked if we could celebrate Kelson's birthday since it's only a week away (from this point)
(we did this last year too... I think it might be a trend?? What do you say Fam??)
Grandma Connie's quilt that she has made for each of her 10 grandchildren...
has fabric from Grandma Pearl, Grandma Lindsey, and Grandma Connie's own wardrobe
G-ma Connie asked if I remembered where the green floral fabric is from...
I said, "didn't you wear this dress to a wedding?"
She said, "yes... your wedding"
Even though I am no longer married... 3 beautiful children came from our marriage
and it's the best thing that could have ever happened for us :)
below you can see Grandma Connie stitching the final stitches in her quilt she made for Kelson
Time to blow out the candles
Happy Birthday (a week early) to our Kelson!!

I love my Family

It's Great to Be 8

Today is Kelson's Birthday!!!
Here he is opening presents before we get ready for school... (hence the bedhead hair)
We saw this same exact car (the real deal) parked at the mall on Black Friday...
Kelson was so excited and exclaimed, "I want this car for my birthday!"
Is this model car close enough?? Since you're only half way to your 16th birthday, and I really don't think a Lamborghini would fit my budget??
This kid is coo-coo crazy for Halo guys!!
He was so excited for this Halo set... 6 guys! yay!! 6 guys to end up in my wash!!
I love pulling out their little body parts at the bottom of my washer ;)

Happy Birthday my little middle guy!!
You are such a sweet and caring boy...
You have the biggest Heart
I am so glad you are part of our family...
It's great to be 8, and next month,
you have chosen to be baptized and confirmed a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
We are so proud
and so Happy for you!!

Tomorrow night is Kelson's Birthday party...
We are going swimming at the Holladay Lion's Club
with 12 of his best buddies :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kelly's son, KELSON!!
I love you

Holiday Tradition

Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, marks the opening night of Christmas Utah
This guy decorates his house to the Extreme!!
You can tune your radio to a certain FM station and watch the show...
The lights blink and dance to the beat of the music...
Each year he adds something new... It's always fun to see what he has added, or twisted to make it different... We love Christmas Utah!!

It is pretty magical...
My kids love the bubble machines he has going to add that extra special effect...
I wonder what his power bill is??

Visiting Santa

Santa taking deep breaths
before the many hours of children, of all ages, sit upon his lap
Our group was pretty big...
but he took his time, with each and everyone, to see what they wanted for Christmas
May your Christmas Season be Merry and Bright!!

24 more days till Christmas!!

Here Comes Santa

Every year, on the Friday after Thanksgiving...
We meet with our Lund cousins
at the Valley Fair Mall
for the West Valley "Here Come Santa Claus" Parade
We sat waiting for the parade to begin... sipping on hot cocoa and playing football
our whole brood... and some long time friends
hahahahaha I just noticed Uncle Alan riding the "tiny" bike in the background!!
The girls
My little Bruno Mars ;)
we found this hat at a Black Friday sale for a dollar!
Jacob entertained us with his "tiny" bike
Kenny girl and Shelba (Shelby)
My girl adores her
Waiting for Lay's potato chips!!
They pass out box fulls of snack sized chips!!
HERE HE COMES!!!!
Santa Claus is finally here...
to go take his chair in the Valley Fair Mall
next we run to go sit on his lap and enjoy milk and cookies

Another fun parade! Thanks Cousins!!
